There’s something uniquely satisfying about a juicy hamburger – classic in its presentation, but unique in its preparation. This month, we highlight a few of our favorite spots to enjoy one of America’s favorite sandwiches – the hamburger:
Santa Clara, CA: Renowned for outstanding hardwood grilled steaks, chops and seafood, Birk’s has evolved into a South Bay icon since its inception in 1989. Driven by exceeding the expectations of guests and striving for excellence, Birk’s excels at consistently executed, straight forward cuisine in a lively ambiance of understated elegance and casual sophistication. At lunch, the Burger is served on a brioche bun, with the option of mushrooms, avocado and spices.
Hillsboro, OR: Orenco Station Grill is the perfect place to relax and enjoy amazing food, beverages, and live music in Hillsboro. Orenco Station Grill is conveniently located near Hillsboro’s attractions while its charm makes it a destination in itself. From the dinner menu, the Kobe Beef Burger is served with gorgonzola on a house-baked ciabatta roll. Another unique choice is the Devil’s Delight Burger, topped with Serrano, habaneros, jalapenos and chili flakes for a spicy flavor to keep you taste buds on their toes.
Liberty Lake, WA: At the Corkhouse Kitchen and Bar, you will find the delight of a restaurant, wine bar, and coffee house all in one. Located in the heart of majestic Liberty Lake, Washington, Corkhouse offers a classy, refined dining experience that is equally inviting and comfortable for the whole family. Enjoy locally sourced ingredients made daily from scratch, crafted into unique versions of your favorite foods – including the Corkhouse Burger which features bacon, white cheddar, Dijon aioli and arugula, served up with a side of sweet potato fries.
San Marcos and San Diego, CA: Slater’s 50/50 was founded by Scott Slater, a SoCal native with a passion for burgers, bacon and craft beer. Inspired by the belief that bacon is meat candy, Scott created the original 50/50 patty – made of 50% ground bacon and 50% ground beef – and a menu full of amplified burgers and indulgent dishes to pair. Over the past six years, Slater’s 50/50 has won numerous “Best Of” awards and is constantly mentioned among the best of the best in local, regional, and national media outlets.
Bellevue and Seattle, WA: LunchBox Laboratory was the culinary vision of Food Alchemist Scott Simpson. The original concept was born of Scott’s love for his mother. By mixing nostalgic Americana comfort food with an off-the-wall twist, he was able to create that unique restaurant quickly became nationally famous for not only its delicious shakes and the “world’s best burgers,” but also for the particular personality that Scott brought to the table and included in all of the products.
Phoenix, AZ: Bootleggers is a casual American Tavern that celebrates the craft of making good food, good drinks, and good friends. The menu is designed for snacking, sharing, and celebrating and includes the exceptional Bootlegger Burger, with Muenster cheese, whiskey onions and a pretzel bun. A rotating selection of craft beers, handmade cocktails, and wines by the glass are perfect for toasting friends, family, and neighbors.
